Within the church community, small groups are your best opportunity to become acquainted with other people and discuss issues of faith in a relaxing environment. Because these groups meet at times other than Sunday morning, there’s more time to develop relationships and discuss pertinent issues.
Whether you’re interested in joining a Bible Study, Small Group, Support Group, etc., we have several groups available. The best way to determine if a group is for you is to show up and give it a try. If you have any questions or would like information, please contact Nyle Sexton, our small groups pastor at 317-862-4555 or nyle@rocklanechristian.org

Small Groups
The small group is somewhat unique as it has three separate purposes. The primary purpose of a small group is relationship building. The secondary purpose is the content of the discussion or study, which changes periodically. The third purpose is to create a new group from the existing group. Please see me (Nyle) if you’re interested in leading a small group.

Bible Study
These groups are centered around the study of Scripture and Christian principles. This is an excellent group for anyone wanting to go deeper into God’s word. While relationships will be formed and developed, the primary emphasis of these groups is study.

Affinity Groups
Affinity groups are formed around a common interest of the group members such as sports, the arts and other activities. The primary purpose of an affinity group is centered on the activity which it is based. A natural and anticipated outcome of any affinity group is the development of new relationships, which is why these groups are of particular interest to new members of the church and the community. These groups will typically include a minimal component of prayer, study or another spiritual purpose, but this is not the purpose or intent of the group's existence.

Topical Studies
These groups are sustained by a particular topic of study such as finances, marriage, etc. They are temporary by design and often evolve into a more permanent small group.

Support Groups

These groups are typically temporary by design and are focused on a scriptural approach to life’s struggles. The most common support groups offer help for divorce, substance abuse and domestic issues.
